Playground

Over the years, I've made countless attempts at optimizing my life. I've cut things that don't contribute to my goals. I haven't had a TV since I left home when I was 18. I deleted Facebook two or three years ago. I abstain almost completely from watching Netflix or TV series. When I read books, I've tended to non-fiction on business, startups, leadership or mindfulness.

This has worked well in that I manage to do an okay job at managing a variety of interests. But there is little room for spontaneity, playfulness or just aimless exploration.

With this blog, my natural tendency would be to turn it into a serious project too. Check analytics, see how traffic and email subscribers grow. Think of success in terms of the response generated.

But I don't want that to happen. Instead, I hope to turn this into a playground. A place, where I can explore ideas without pressure. Where I don't care about impact or results. Where the process is joy and results don't matter.
