Creating Space
One of the nice things about the Christmas break was to have no meetings, no Slack. It created some space and silence that I very much needed.
Over the next 30 days, starting tomorrow, I want to extend that and go deeper with it. And the best way for me to do that is to cut out the things I resort to to fill the emptiness.
So my rules for that time are:
- No news.
- No Twitter. At least not reading. I may post tweets through Typefully.
- No YouTube.
- No crypto prices.
- Emails I want to check once or twice per day, but not more.
My one exception is that there will be the Australian Open and given my tennis obsession, I do want to follow that a little bit. So I will allow four times one hour of watching that.
I also want to do a week of working, but without participating in meetings nor being on Slack. If my input is needed, people can message me, email me or call me. I'm looking forward to seeing how that experiment plays out.
